Before I start telling you about the common dreams that do occur to us, let me quickly explain the word dream.
 Actually there are different definitions or explanations to the meaning of dreams, sometimes what we dreamt would be opposite to what would happen to us in reality, and it might never happen to us at all, dreams could come to us as a sign of warnings to our past, present or future occurrence. Sometimes dreams can be real. So these determines on the perspective of individuals, as to how we place importance and significance to our dreams.
 According to scientifically facts, they say dreams are stories and images that our minds create while we sleep. They can be entertaining, fun, romantic, disturbing, frightening and sometimes bizarre. Others will claim that dreams are like letters from the unconscious mind. If only they were written in the same language we use in waking reality. Dreaming can be a connection to areas deep within yourself being worked through in ways you cannot manage in your conscious state.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DREAMS:
Though a few people may not remember dreaming, it is thought that everyone dreams between 3 to 6 times per night.
It is thought that each dream lasts between 5 to 20 minutes.
Around 95% of dreams are forgotten by the time a person gets out of bed.
Dreaming can help you learn and develop long-term memories.
 Women dream more about family, children and indoor settings when compared with men.
Recalling something from last week that has appeared in your dream is called the "dream-lag effect."
 There is a difference in the quality and quantity of dreams experienced in rapid eye movement and non-rapid eye movement sleep.
48% of people that feature in a dream are recognized by the person dreaming.
 Blind people dream more with other sensory components compared with sighted people.
 Both sleep and dream qualities are affected by alcohol.
 COMMON DREAMS
1. Flying: If you are flying in your dream, then that means that you have liberated yourself of a thing that has been weighing you down. It also tells us how much control we have over our lives, depending upon how effectively or poorly the flying is handled. Flying dreams can also indicate success in your life.  The dream may be about an accomplishment, something you have already achieved, or something that is *just* about to become successful.

2. Being Chased:  This is the number one common dream in the world of dreams. It means you're feeling threatened, If you are doing the chasing in the dream, this suggests that there is something in your life you “chasing after” or trying to achieve. This dream suggests that you are actually running from a situation (or a problem) that needs your attention.

 3   Falling: This dream relates to your anxieties about letting go, losing control, or somehow failing after a success. It means that you are trying to hold on to a situation too tightly in your real life. It can also indicate a loss of confidence
4.  Death: Dreaming of your own death indicates that you are going through a major transformation in your conscious life.  It could be an emotional or spiritual transformation.  It could also be a transformation of circumstances, finances. It is often connected with some dramatic change going on in your real life. Symbolically, it represents the end of something in order to start something new. Just as the caterpillar must die so that the butterfly can live, so too must an aspect of yourself die so that you can transform into the magnificent being you were born to be.

5. Eating in the Dream: Eating represents self-care, self-nourishment, and taking care of yourself. .Please note here that some people only eat but they don’t swallow the food in their dreams, they can only chew but by the time they want to swallow, something might wake them up, this means your life is secured. You have a strong spirit in your body. You are somehow protected.

6. The naked dream: Being naked showed some kind of vulnerability in your life.  It symbolizes who you are, deep down, without anything to cover you up or hide behind. It shows you are weak and exposed to certain situations in your life, be it psychological or emotional. Revealing your true self to others. You may feel vulnerable and exposed to others.

7. Being trapped:  (physically) is a common nightmare, reflecting your real life inability to escape or make the right choice.  it means that you feel confined and restricted in a friendship, family, career or romantic relationship. You may be feeling bad physically because of your emotional worries. It may also mean that spiritually, we are holding ourselves back. We may also be aware of being trapped by the restrictions of the physical body.

8. Fighting: This type of dream may reflect something that is going on in your reality. Struggles that you are going through may be manifested in your dreams. Fighting in dreams also represents long term problems that haven’t been solved. Fighting with someone means you are kind of defensive in the physical, It’s hard for people to penetrate your weak spot. It means you don’t accept defeats easily, you will still fight back.

9. Babies: Babies represent innocence, purity, and new beginnings.. Babies symbolize a start of something new. It could be anything, a project, a new relationship, etc. To dream of crying babies, is indicative of ill health and disappointments.

10. Having Sex: Naturally this type of dream does not mean what it seems like, sometimes it may be opposite. It demonstrate the unification of unconscious emotions with conscious recognition, showing a new awareness and personal growth. But mind you, if you dream having sex with a woman you like or wanted for a relationship, in reality, you may never be able to have her for your lover. That dream just tells you to stop, its dead end. Try it and see… (.Please I need a comment if anyone has been able to break this point. The truth should be told…..If you have been able to date and marry a woman you had sex with before you met her…To me it is impossible).
11. Money: To dream of finding money, denotes small worries, but much happiness. Changes will follow.
To pay out money: Shows misfortune.
To receive gold: Great prosperity and absolute pleasures.
To lose money: You will experience unhappy hours in the home or your affairs will appear gloomy.
If you dream of exchanging money, it may show that you're anticipating some changes in your life.
To dream of being wealthy is a reflection on the power of your thoughts, and how they will manifest into material prosperity
12. Killing: Killing in your dreams does not make you a closet murderer; it represents your desire to "kill" part of your own personality. It can also symbolize hostility towards a particular person. It may signify your toughness/rigidity to be used by evil.
13. Water: You see water spilling out from a boiling pot: you will achieve financial success that is beyond your dream you drink water: you’ll have money luck you keep drinking water: you’ll have a great financial success You or someone walk on water: you’ll have an incredible success You or someone stand
14. Houses: Dreaming of houses can mean many common dream symbols, but the building as a whole represents your inner psyche. Each room or floor can symbolize different emotions, memories and interpretations of meaningful events. To dream that you own an elegant house denotes that you will soon leave your home for a better, and fortune will be kind to you. Old and dilapidated houses denote failure in business or any effort, and declining health.
15. Swimming: swimming in the clear water stands in general for success and luck.


  • Swimming in murky or stormy water announces problems and failures.
  • with others swim points out to the fact that one needs advice and help in a matter.
